Off To The ER…

Nothing is ever easy, right? This morning was great. IV went in fine. Procedure went well. We got 14 eggs. All is right in the world…or so we thought.

  
I started getting a lot of pressure and pain in my lower abdomen and severe shooting pains on my right side that also were felt in my back. I threw up once but didn’t really think anything of it. Just chalked it up to anesthesia. I have been having trouble bending over or sitting up straight due to the pressure and pain. I used the restroom and found that I couldn’t wipe myself because it hurt too bad to lean forward and do so. I noticed my stomach looked bigger so I stepped on the scale. Since being weighed this morning before the procedure I have gained 7.8 lbs…uh oh…

I called and left a message for the on call doctor who just so happens to be the fellow that we normally see and who knows us very well. She told me to drink lots of water, do an injection of Cetrotide (we had one left over) and then come to the clinic in the morning for ultrasound. We prepared the shot and were just about to administer when she called back. She spoke with Dr. Bohler who was concerned that I was bleeding into my belly from the procedure and I needed to come meet her at the ER right away…yea…

So here we are in a room on the Labor and Delivery floor (the irony is not lost on me…) waiting for the doctor to get here. The took my temperature and in an hour it has gone from 97.4 to 99.4. I just had 7 vials of blood drawn and my veins are shot. We are now waiting on an ultrasound. I guess I jinxed myself with the excitement about not getting stabbed again for a while! I will keep everyone posted!
